A feasibility study on 10% of the NSHD sample living near the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility (CRF) in Manchester took place during 2006-2007. Data from the remaining sample were collected from 2008 to 2010 at CRFs located in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Cardiff and London.

The protocol for the 2006-1010 data collection can be found in the published 2011 cohort profile  (Cohort Profile: Updating the cohort profile for the MRC National Survey of Health and Development: a new clinic-based data collection for ageing research) and on our public website (New Data Collection).

The study team and specialist colleagues trained the nurses for 1-2 days at each of the CRFs.
