Health visitors were asked to make home visits to all cohort members to ask questions about health and employment, and a postal version for self-completion was sent to those who did not wish to be interviewed or who could not be contacted by a health visitor. In addition cohort members who were at university in 1965 were interviewed by study team members using a semi-structured method without a questionnaire to ask about their school preparation for university, their choice of university subject, specialisation at university, views on the so-called ‘two cultures’ (i.e. arts and sciences) debate, accommodation, and comments on the perceived function of a university. 299 students were invited and 193 took part.  \\ \\ === Training for data collection === Instructions are given at the head of each form. \\ \\ === Contents === === Study Member Interview/self-completion === * Marital status and children * Accidents and medical appointments * Employment history * Further Education === University/College Students === * Details of training * Parental attitude to studying * Work and study habits * Timetable of work * Accommodation and finances * Social and Leisure activities * Vacation work * Illness and medical appointments * Sleep patterns * Eyesight * Maudsley Personality Inventory (short form) === School === * Examination details * Destination on leaving school/college * Positions of responsibility in school/college * Absences\\ === College === * Student course record * College information \\ === Questionnaires === * {{ questionnaires : 1965_SM_H1.pdf|Form H1 }} -    Health visitor interview with study member * {{ questionnaires : 1965_SMSC_H1a.pdf|Form H1a }} -  Study member self completion * {{ questionnaires : 1965_schools_S13.pdf|Form S13 }} -  Schools * {{ questionnaires : 1965_student_T1.pdf|Form T1 }} -    University and college student study members * {{ questionnaires : 1965_College_Y6.pdf|Form Y6 }} -    Colleges
